WASHBASINS INFORMATION < WASHBASINS Find out which type suits your needs Application Typologies P icking a washbasin requires the consideration of several variables, either structural (such as the piping positioning) or functional. Learn more about the different types of installation typologies and pick the best option for your project. Materials Efficiency and durability Sanitaryware S anitary ceramics have been used in bathrooms for centuries – and rightly so. The clear advantages of this material lie on it being produced from natural raw materials like clay, kaolin, feldspar and quartz. The hygiene of its vitrified surface grants comfort and safety, while its durability warrants a relatively long product life. Our ceramic washbasins have a particularly soft and impermeable texture – highly resistant to stains – so water spots, residual grease or soap residue can easily be removed. Countertop / Wall-mounted As the name suggests, the countertop / wall hung wash basins allow both types of installation. They can simply be placed on a countertop or wall-mounted - the better option for small bathrooms. These are ideal for anyone looking for more flexibility when ordering, since this alternative lets you keep your options open. Countertop Countertop washbasins rest chosen on the surface, allowing the shape and design of the washbasin to be the protagonist. Available in versions with or without tap hole, our countertop washbasins are usually glazed all around - enabling the positioning of the washbasin away from a wall. Recessed washbasins can be installed in three different ways: built in from above, from under the surface or semi-recessed. This type of washbasins is particularly useful for those who prefer to have more space for their toiletries or for those that prefer a clean and unfussy countertop. Recessed The classic wall-hung washbasins are ideal for smaller bathrooms or for bathrooms that don’t require a storage space. These can be separately installed on their own or, with their respective pedestals and siphon-covers, usually used in a way to hide the unsightly piping system.
